The observer effect and uncertainty principle has been confused many times, but I believe it is related and neither can be studied in isolation. Deeper mathematical formulations may get us to ‘hence proved’ in any of our hypothesis but my pet ‘Murphy’ has a big role in my understanding of the world and here is for observer effect :) .
